Tech-onomy Reflection

This assignment was truly enlightening. Due to the fact that I will be preparing students to be technologically literate citizens, it is important that I ponder on the qualities that are possessed by teachers who are expected to do this. This assignment led me to seriously consider these traits. Without a doubt, I believe that an effective teacher in the open world of 2.0 should be diverse, eclectic, cutting edge and creative. Furthermore, I believe that both Bonk and Crane believe that these qualities are important for teachers to have when preparing 21st century learners. It is very necessary for teachers to think in terms of how they can better prepare their students to be more technologically advanced due to the fact that the future in moving toward a greater emphasis on technology. If students do not become technologically literate then they will defiantly be put at a disadvantage in comparison to their more prepared peers in this country and in others.
